About Air Transat

Air Transat is Canada’s award winning leisure airline. Every year, it carries some 4.5 million passengers to approximately 60 destinations in 26 countries. Operating a fleet of Boeing narrow-body and Airbus wide-body jets, the airline serves the UK and Ireland with direct flights from London Gatwick, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. The award winning airline offers two cabin classes; Club Class and Economy.

Cabin Classes

Economy

Air Transat’s Economy Class offers friendly staff, a personalised service and unrivalled comfort, thanks to ergonomic Italian-leather seats that boast a 32-inch seat pitch. For added benefits, such as priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling – not to mention additional hold luggage and complimentary standard seat selection – chat to a Flight Centre Travel Expert about upgrading to Economy Option Plus.

Entertainment: Passengers on the Airbus A330 benefit from individual touch-screen TVs with a range of entertainment options. Shared cabin screens or access to the Air Transat onboard entertainment system, via your travellers’ own personal devices, is available on the Airbus A310.

Food & drink: A complimentary meal service with beer or wine, as well as tea, coffee and soft drinks throughout the duration of the flight, are included. To meet certain dietary preferences and restrictions, Air Transat offers the option to pre-order special meals. Passengers can pre-order their special meals up to 72 hours prior to departure.

Club Class

This spacious and exclusive cabin at the front of the aircraft offers a dedicated cabin crew and extra comfort, with just 12 luxury leather seats, each with a 36-inch seat pitch. Passengers also benefit from an amenity kit, complimentary seat selection, priority boarding, priority baggage handling, a 64kg checked luggage allowance, and fast-track security access at London Gatwick and Glasgow airports.

Entertainment: All seats feature an individual touch-screen entertainment system.

Food & drink: Club Class passengers are welcomed onboard with a cocktail and can choose from a selection of gourmet in-flight meals, designed by Daniel Vézina and accompanied by wine and after-dinner drinks. A complimentary drink and snack bar is available throughout the flight. To meet certain dietary preferences and restrictions, Air Transat offers the option to pre-order special meals. Passengers can pre-order their special meals up to 72 hours prior to departure.

Baggage

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers are allowed to take one standard carry-on item onboard. For Economy Class and Option Plus, this must weigh no more than 10kg. Those travelling in Club Class can take up to 15kg of carry-on luggage.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage allowances on Air Transat vary depending on the class level. Passengers travelling in Economy Class may check one 23kg bag into the hold. Those who have upgraded to Option Plus may take two pieces of checked luggage weighing up to 46kg in total. Club Class travellers are also allowed to take two bags, with a combined weight limit of 64kg.

Sporting Equipment

In addition to each passenger’s checked baggage allowance, Air Transat will allow one selected sporting item weighing up to 20kg. These items include: golf, ski, snowboard, camping, fishing, kiteboard and scuba-diving equipment. Bike and surfing equipment will incur extra charges. Travellers may not substitute personal baggage or any other equipment for their free sporting item.

Equipment for Babies/Children

It is free to check-in car seats or strollers. An additional charge applies to folding playpens if the checked baggage allowance is exceeded.

Check-in

Air Transat offers different methods of check-in to cater for every passenger’s needs:

Airport Check-in

Check-in at the airport opens four hours prior to departure and closes strictly one hour prior to departure.

Online Check-in

Passengers can check-in from the comfort of their own home and download an electronic boarding card. Once at the airport, passengers should use the ‘Bag Drop’ queue to deposit their bags. The Bag Drop counter will close strictly one hour prior to departure.

Mobile Check-in

Check-in with with Air Transat’s app and download an electronic boarding card. At the airport, passengers should use the ‘Bag Drop’ queue to deposit their bags. The Bag Drop counter will close strictly one hour prior to departure.

Airport Kiosk

Available at selected airports only. Passengers can check-in and select their seats at Air Transat’s self-service kiosks. Once checked in, passengers will be able to print their boarding passes and proceed to the Bag Drop queue to deposit their bags. The Bag Drop counter will close strictly one hour prior to departure.
