Day 2
Cairo
Today you'll visit the Pyramids at Giza, Egyptian Museum, El Azhar Mosque and Cairo's bazaar along with the enigmatic Great Sphinx. In the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, relics date back to 4,000 BCE, including the famous treasures of Tutankhamun's tomb. Afterward, you'll visit the oldest mosque in Cairo, Al Azhar Mosque, and then meander through the maze of small alleyways and streets that make up Cairo's bustling bazaar.
Accommodation: Steigenberger Pyramids Hotel or similar
Day 3
Fly to Luxor and visit Karnak and Luxor temples
After an early transfer to Cairo airport, you'll board your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you'll visit the enormous Karnak Temple complex on the east bank of the Nile, followed by the grand Luxor Temple. After lunch on board your Nile cruise boat, you'll have free time to relax or explore Luxor.
Accommodation: M/S Nile Style or similar
Day 4
Valley of the Kings and Nile Cruise
You'll start the day with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, where you'll see the hidden tombs of over 60 pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, Seti I, Ramses III, and IV. You'll then board your cruise boat and sail along the Nile from Luxor to Aswan. Along the way, you'll stop at the temple of Edfu, known for its impressive roofed inner temples and colossal pylon.
Accommodation: M/S Nile Style or similar
Day 5
Nile Cruise and Kom Ombo temple
Continuing your Nile Cruise, you'll stop at the temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to two gods: Sobek (the crocodile god) and Horus (the falcon-headed god). The temple's symmetrical design, with two identical parts facing each other, is truly unique. You'll also have plenty of time to relax and take in the beautiful scenery as you cruise along the Nile.
Accommodation: M/S Nile Style or similar
Day 6
Aswan
Today, you'll have the option to visit Abu Simbel, one of the most spectacular sites in Egypt. The temples, built by Ramses II, were moved to their current location in the late 1960s to avoid being submerged by the waters of the Aswan High Dam. The temples' four giant statues of Ramses II facing east are particularly impressive.
Accommodation: M/S Nile Style or similar
Day 7
Aswan
Embark on a full-day tour of Aswan, starting with a delicious breakfast on board before bidding farewell to the Nile cruise. Aswan is a laid-back town known for the friendly and hospitable character of its inhabitants. Explore the bustling bazaar and browse through an array of goods, from spices to carpets and leather goods. For those who prefer museums, the Nubian Museum is located across from the hotel.
For an optional excursion, visit the Philae Temple, which was relocated to Aglika Island by Unesco in the 1970s to avoid submersion by the Aswan High Dam. The temple is a remarkable example of ancient and modern engineering. During this excursion, visitors will also get to see the Aswan High Dam and Cleopatra's Unfinished Obelisk.
Accommodation: Basma Hotel (or similar)
Day 8
Aswan
Today is your last day in Aswan. You'll have a free morning to relax, or you can join your guide for an optional excursion to St. Simone Monastery or a nearby Nubian museum. The felucca ride allows you to appreciate the serenity of the Nile and the breathtaking landscape, where the vast desert almost reaches the water's edge.
