About First Class

First Class travel offers more space and larger seats that generally convert to a fully flat bed for optimal comfort. Passengers are also provided with a duvet or comforter and large comfortable pillow to make sleeping as easy as possible. As with Business Class travel, First Class guests also have access to power outlets for charging devices and using laptop computers. There is often a greater selection of entertainment options and a larger personal screen than what you would find in other classes of travel.

What's the difference between First and Business Class?

Major airlines that offer First Class

Flying First Class doesn’t always have to mean blowing the budget. Some First Class tickets offer fantastic value for money when you consider what is included, and can sometimes be the same price or cheaper than Business Class. To find out what First Class cabins are the best for your route, talk to one of our First and Business experts. Generally speaking, we recommend flying First Class with the following airlines:

  • British Airways
  • Virgin Atlantic
  • Qantas
  • Air New Zealand
  • Cathay Pacific
  • Eva Air
  • Air France
  • Turkish Airlines

Food and drink

The menu on First Class flights go above and beyond those of Economy and Business Class. As well as having access to a wide variety of premium food and beverages, First Class travellers can often choose exactly when they want to eat, as well as having meals freshly prepared by an on-board chef in some cases. Premium beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are included in the fare and available any time with some airlines offering couple seating during the meal service.

Other benefits

Many First Class carriers also have high-end electronic entertainment systems with large screens that offer movies, games, TV shows and music on demand. You will also experience express check-in and boarding through a dedicated area. Some First Class airlines provide a pre-boarding lounge that offer amenities such as food, drinks and internet access.

Airport lounge access

Another benefit of flying First Class is access to exclusive airline lounges. Most major airlines have a collection of lounges throughout the world, and most also have a network of partner airline lounges you can access if flying First Class. Common features of airline lounges include Wi-Fi, restaurant quality meal and beverages, televisions, reading material, showers and computers. Refer to your First and Business expert for more information on the lounges offered.
