Days 1-2
Fly from the UK to Darwin.
Day 3
Darwin
Check into your hotel. In the evening, meet your travel director and the rest of your group for dinner with a view of the city’s waterfront.

Day 4
Katherine
Leave Darwin behind and travel along the Stuart Highway, stopping to look around the War Cemetery at Adelaide River. After passing through Katherine, you’ll enter Nitmiluk National Park, where you’ll enjoy a gentle cruise on the calm waters of Katherine Gorge. Look out for wildlife and learn about the history and culture of the area and its people, the Jawoyn, as you go. In the evening meet Tom Curtin and watch his show, the Katherine Outback Experience.

Days 5-6
Kununurra
Cross the state border into Western Australia and watch as the landscape changes right before your eyes. Call in at the Durack Homestead Museum, built in 1895, and cruise along the Ord River, keeping an eye out for fish, birds and various marsupials. Watch the sun set over the water before checking into your Kununurra hotel. The next day, you’ll have the option of a scenic flight over the Bungle Bungles, an other-worldly landscape of rock towers.

Days 7-8
El Questro
After breakfast, visit the Hoochery Distillery, home of Ord River Rum, then continue to Parry Lagoons Nature Reserve to look out for birds including ibis and herons, and perhaps a passing crocodile. Sleep to the sounds of the wilderness among the palms of the Cockburn Ranges. In the morning, join a cruise along Chamberlain Gorge, with time in the afternoon to cool off in your hotel pool or hike to Emma Gorge for a swim in a tranquil waterhole.

Day 9
Halls Creek
This morning, head on to Argyle Diamond Mine, the world’s largest source of diamonds, for a tour by an indigenous guide. Later, continue to Halls Creek on the fringes of the Great Sandy Desert, to learn more about the Aboriginal and European history of the area.

Day 10
Fitzroy Crossing
Today, your destination is Fitzroy Crossing, with a stop along the way at an Indigenous art gallery in Halls Creek. After lunch, hop on board a cruise through Geikie Gorge, where if you are lucky, you might spot crocodiles, fruit bats or wallabies along the sheer-sided rock faces.

Days 11-12
Broome
Time for the final stop on your wilderness adventure, Broome. To get there, you’ll travel through some glorious scenery, before touring the town with your Travel Director. You’ll call in at the Japanese Cemetery and Gantheaume Point’s dramatic red cliffs, where you can watch the sun set over the waves. The next day, get out and explore Broome – perhaps enjoy a refreshing swim at Cable Beach or browse the shops in Chinatown. Tonight, say goodbye to the rest of your group and reflect on your Kimberley adventure at your Farewell Dinner.
