The world is reopening and we couldn’t be more excited. That said, we know that there’s still a lot of confusion out there. Indeed, one of our customers’ biggest travel worries right now is advice changing after a holiday is booked, and being forced to quarantine on your return, or worse – in-destination! That’s where our Red List & Quarantine Protection comes in. Whether border rules change, or your holiday is moved to the UK government’s red list, we’ve got your back.

You can change your destination, dates or get a full refund, right up to the day of travel, if any of the below happens within the six-week period prior to your date of travel:

Destination Moves to the Red List

If your destination is moved to the red list and you would need to quarantine in a government-approved hotel when you return to England.

In-Destination Quarantine

If the country you’re travelling to imposes a mandatory quarantine period on arrival.

Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Changes

If the FCDO advice changes and imposes an ‘all but essential’ travel ban on the destination you’re visiting.

Border Closures

If your destination stops allowing entry to British travellers.

Amber-List Quarantine

If travellers need to quarantine on return from an amber-list destination, regardless of vaccination status.

We also strongly recommend taking out travel insurance with our partners at Cover-More. This will help protect you even further – particularly in the event of you, or a close family member, testing positive for COVID-19. Please note that this policy does not cover travel to a country or region where the Foreign, Development & Commonwealth Office has advised against all travel or all but essential travel. If you’re planning to travel in the next six weeks, we’ll check the destination you’re going to and offer you a range of flexible payment options, so you know your commitments, every step of your way. We’ll also ask you to complete a form before you go to ensure you’re aware of all the testing and vaccination information required for entry into your destination.


Travelling Later in the Year?

Holidays are all about getting immersed in different cultures, relaxing, rejuvenating, broadening your mind and, well, having something to look forward to/brag about. So, regardless of the status of your destination country at the time of booking, we’re here to help you get something in the diary. And with our flexible booking policy you can book a package for later in the year with complete confidence. 

If, by six weeks prior to your departure, your destination is on the red list (regardless of what it was when you booked), we’ll contact you to discuss your options and then it’ll be your decision about what to do next. You can choose to travel, change your dates or destination, or take a full refund.  

We’ll also ask you to complete a form six weeks before travel to ensure you acknowledge the testing and vaccinations required for entry into your destination.


Is My Holiday Covered by Red List & Quarantine Protection?

All flight and hotel packages organised by Flight Centre are covered by our Red List & Quarantine Protection. Please note that Quarantine Protection does not apply to flight-only bookings, flights with a cruise, or flights with a tour. Cancellation costs related to these products will be applied as per our suppliers' terms, but rest assured, we have such close connections with these partners we’ll do everything to recover as much of your money as we can.
