Tasmania

Waiheke Island, New Zealand

‘I absolutely love Waiheke Island, in New Zealand, which is actually home to my favourite hotel in the world – The Boatshed Waiheke. On arrival you’re greeted with a welcome wine and cheese board which you can eat by the fire with the resident dog. It’s a true boutique with only a handful of rooms but offering the full service of a 5-star hotel. The best thing about Waiheke is the vineyards and we have some great tour offerings such as Gourmets Food and Wine Tour which includes tasting at the three different vineyards. South Carolina

‘South Carolina is definitely my top pick for the most exciting destination of 2020. This year, a new BA route started flying into Charleston, twice a week in the summer. Charleston has incredible cuisine and a great southern comfort food scene, as well as plenty of old-world Southern charm, history (historic homes, Civil War, plantation houses etc). You’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful hotels to stay in - like the Belmond for example (available in our Handpicked collection). Meanwhile, inland there are some really cool places to visit including scenic lakes, golf spots, breweries and mountains to the west. Montenegro

Namibia

‘Namibia is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream and a world away from any other part of Africa in so many ways. Once part of Windhoek, the country is a sparsely populated land of mountain ridges, desert and sand dunes so tall they name them. It offers the adventure of a lifetime for those intrepid enough to take on the Mars-like terrain, throwing up red, orange and yellow hues amidst the dust. For those in search of more comfort once they kick off their boots, the country is dotted with beautiful eco lodges sympathetic to the land and with a purposeful lack of large scale development. Namibia remains exclusive in its availability but achievable on a budget. From Etosha National Park (one of the most stunning places I have ever been on safari) to Fish River Canyon (the largest in Africa) and famous Sossusvlei National Park (is there anything more insta-worthy than a sunrise here?)
