Check-in
Online check-in
Guests can check-in online or via the app 24 hours before their flight. Some international destinations do not allow online check-in – please speak to your Flight Centre Travel Consultant for more details.
Airport check-in
Passengers are invited to check-in at the airport at WestJet kiosks 24 hours before their flight or three hours before departure when using Guest Assistance. Select airports also offer self-service baggage tag kiosks. The cut-off for check-in is 45 minutes before departure for domestic flights, or 60 minutes for international flights.
Baggage
Baggage allowances vary depending on cabin class and fare options. Checked luggage must not exceed total dimensions of 157cm or 62 inches, and must be no heavier than 23kg (50lbs). To find out your checked baggage allowance, chat to your Flight Centre Travel Consultant.
Frequent Flyer Programme
WestJet Rewards is WestJet’s frequent flyer programme. You can earn up to 8% back in points (aka WestJet dollars) on flights, holiday packages and more, as well as enjoying priority services, such as lounge access, dependent on your tier level. Tiers are as follows:
- Teal – entry level
- Silver – added benefits include first and second checked bags FREE, priority check-in and airport lounge vouchers
- Gold – a superior experience which includes unlimited lounge access and complimentary cabin class upgrades with eligible fares
- Platinum – this allows the highest level of perks and benefits, including the highest priority for complimentary cabin class upgrades.
Economy Class
When flying international long-haul in WestJet’s Economy cabin, we just love the 787 Dreamliner. Onboard you’ll get a seat pitch of 31 inches, self-dimming windows, and a blanket and pillow when you board the plane. Complimentary food and beverages will be served during the flight and you can enjoy hundreds of hours of TV and film on-demand with WestJet Connect, the airline’s onboard entertainment system. Seatback screens are a sizeable 11.6 inches, while each seat benefits from an AC power outlet and USB port.
