Flights from London to Abu Dhabi take approximately 7 hours and disembark at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). The airport itself is one of the fastest growing across the globe and services over 80 destinations in nearly 50 countries. It is also a hub for Etihad Airways' long haul flights from the United Kingdom to a host of international destinations.
Abu Dhabi stands proud as the largest of the Arab Emirates, offering travellers the chance to experience traditional culture alongside decadent luxury. The desert oasis is a buzzing metropolis of cultural gems, pristine beaches, luxurious hotels, opulent mosques and exotic markets.
In recent years the Emirate has begun to modernise it's appeal, implementing the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi theme park and Yas Marina Circuit (pictured) which draws thousands to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix each year.Yas Island is a destination within itself. It is also still in the process of being developed but is currently home to the circuit, a water theme park called Yas Waterworld, a beach and numerous restaurants.
Abu Dhabi has been a beloved tourist haven for many years due to its tranquil and scenic tourist hubs and friendliness towards tourists and travellers alike. The beautiful Abu Dhabi Corniche for example, a huge promenade which features a number of jetties and viewpoints, is immaculately clean and offers breathtaking views of the city amongst the local fishermen.
Drive an hour and a half out of Abu Dhabi and travel to Al Ain to experience the ‘Garden City’ of the Arab Emirates. Al Ain features a Museum and Fort which are both full of history while the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort vis where you can see an array of wildlife from lions and pink flamingos.
The average maximum temperature for Abu Dhabi ranges between 24 and 43 degrees. The hottest month is August with an average temperature of 37 degrees and the coldest month is January with an average temperature of 19 degrees.
