Darwin Holidays

The ‘Top End’ of the Northern Territory is home to Darwin, Australia’s most multicultural city. It boasts inhabitants from over 50 nations, whilst being one of our favourite Australian gateways. This cosmopolitan make-up gives this small yet mighty city a vibrant buzz and friendly atmosphere that visitors always enjoy.

Don’t miss day trips to the Tiwi Islands, cruises through Darwin Harbour, jet skiing at sunrise, and an eclectic food and market scene. The city is also the perfect jumping-off point for exploring the Northern Territory’s spectacular national parks. Discover Aboriginal rock-art sites, including Nourlangie Rock and Ubirr, in Kakadu – a confection of wildlife-rich wetlands, woodlands and gushing waterfalls, not to mention Australia’s largest national park. Our experts just love Nitmiluk National Park and the majestic Katherine Gorge too, home to a plethora of dramatic landscapes best explored by kayak, cruise, on foot, or via scenic flight. When to Go to Darwin

Unlike the rest of the Northern Territory, the Top End, which includes Darwin as well as Kakadu and Katherine, has just two seasons, the wet and the dry. The dry season takes place from May to October and is ideal for visiting Darwin for dry and less humid conditions, and for seeing wildlife when on safari nearby. From November to April is when the wet season hits and is when you can see Darwin’s nearby waterfalls in full force and national parks looking vibrant green.
