Our Guide to Refundable Airfares During Coronavirus

Whether it’s changing border regulations, the introduction of travel bans or a change in your circumstances due to coronavirus, keeping your bookings flexible has never been more important...

But just how flexible are your tickets? And how can you avoid complicated cancellation, rebooking or refund policies? The good news is that some of the biggest names in air travel, including Air France, KLM, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Etihad Airways, are offering full refunds on any tickets booked with them over the coming months. We’ve rounded up some of the most flexible airlines below to help you plan and book your next Flight Centre holiday with peace of mind. 

Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways is the largest airline to have flown consistently throughout the pandemic. It currently serves over 85 destinations via its hub in Doha (DOH) and has the most expansive eastbound route.

Terms: You're eligible for a full refund if your flight has been cancelled, you've tested positive for COVID-19, and/or there are government restrictions in place for travel. Valid on all flights booked before 31 March 2022.

Etihad Airways

Etihad operates between London and Abu Dhabi, and then onwards to over 50 destinations including Asia, Australia, the Middle East and North America. COVID-19 PCR tests are mandatory when travelling with Etihad, and you must bring proof of your test results with you on your trip.  

Terms: You're eligible for a full refund if the flight has been cancelled, you've tested positive for COVID-19, and/or there are government restrictions in place for travel. Valid on all flights booked before 31 March 2022 for travel up to 31 March 2022.

Air France & KLM 

Air France and KLM serve European destinations via their hubs in Paris and Amsterdam. Travelling to the Americas? This airline partnership also offers some of the best options for flexible tickets across the pond.

Terms: Valid on all reservations booked by 31 March 2022, for travel up to 31 March 2022.

Emirates  

Emirates operates between Manchester, London and Dubai and then onwards to destinations including the Far East, Africa and Australia. A recent change in regulations means that you no longer need a COVID-19 test when transiting Dubai from the UK. 

Terms: Valid for all bookings and travel up to 31 May 2022.

Singapore Airlines

Together with SilkAir and Scoot, Singapore Airlines flies to over 130 destinations around the world, with some routes reduced due to COVID-19.

Terms: Valid for bookings made up to 30 June 2022.
